In many ways Ed Phillips was an ordinary man who made extraordinary decoys. At first, his decoys might seem somewhat simple, even basic in their design and paint. Yet up close, they appear extremely well made and nicely proportioned. In this sense, considering the distinctive floating structure he left as his legacy, he could be considered the da Vinci of Dorchester County.
